"Melting Snowflakes was inspired from Winter in Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. The melody in the beginning and ending section were based off the chords in the harpsichord part from the first 11 bars of Winter. The first time the piano plays this melody softly on its own. When it is repeated at the end, it is played louder with all the instruments together. Segments of the melody are played by the violin, viola and cello giving each instrument a chance to shine. Slowly each instrument stops playing and the volume dies down to only the cello and piano."
